Weta comes to Denver Comic Con

There are two things that comes to a persons mind when you say Weta. One of them is a bug that can be found in new Zealand and the other is the group that made props for great movies such as The Lord of Rings, The Hobbit and Avatar. One of the biggest differences that these two will have this June is that one of them will be found in the Colorado Convention Center.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have been invited by the organizers and we've been eagerly packing cool stuff from Middle-earth and beyond onto trucks and into planes to have a great range available to purchase at the Weta booth,” said Stacy Longstreet, expedition leader for Weta’s contingent at the show. “It’s our first time in Denver as well as our first US show this year and we’re really looking forward to meeting fans and making friends in Colorado.”

Attendees will have a unique opportunity to meet the artists and craftsman who create some of Weta's amazing props. You can even purchase some of these great items as Weta will come loaded with limited-edition collectibles, prop replicas, art prints, jewelry, clothing and merchandise from the movies that will be on display and available to purchase at the booth. I didn't have the time to immerse myself in the convention the way I would have liked to, but it did allow me to talk to, and witness, a geek culture I honestly didn't know much about; the LARPer (Live Action Role Play).

Review: South Park: The Stick of Truth

There is nothing like a small mountain town. They are peaceful, out of the way locals that are great for raising a family where nothing much really happens. Unless you happen to be in South Park, CO. Here anything goes and may be considered normal. So it may be a little odd to move to this supposedly peaceful town. And if you are a kid, well good luck.

Welcome to South Park

Greetings new kid, your family has just moved you to the town of South Park, CO to start over. Why do they need to start over?
