A great action/adventure game can really suck you into a world that is adrenaline packed and keeps you up into the wee hours. There is a fine balance between keeping gamers engaged with action packed sequences while maintaining a good story to keep gamers exploring. Who walked the balance beam the best?
The Gameslave Award for Best Action/Adventure Game goes to Red Dead Redemption (Xbox 360, PS3). The people at Rockstar has done it again. In RDR, Rockstar was able to create a Grand Theft Auto feel to a game set in the Wild West. The multiple missions you embark are varied enough to keep pushing along the great story. The voice acting is spot on and you start to build a connection with the games main character, John Marston, very early on. RDR presented a perfect balance between action gameplay while being able to explore the vast lands of the West.
