Being a huge music fan and having a minor in music, Best Original Music is definitely one of the most intriguing categories.  Music is an integral part of any video game and when you have a game that has outstanding musical direction; it makes it that much better.

The Gameslave Award for Best Original Music is DJ Hero 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii).  DJ Hero 2 took what was great about the first DJ Hero and multiplied it by one thousand.  If you have not had the chance to play the DJ Hero series yet, the best part of it is the songs in the game.  DJ Hero 2 took a lot of the popular songs out there today and mixed them together with other popular songs thus creating a masterpiece for your ears.  It’s great to hear hits by Lady Gaga and Eminem mixed together to create a new song.  What’s also great about DJ Hero 2 is that if you don’t actually want to DJ and just want listen to the great songs, you can do that.  If you have a nice sound system, do yourself a favor and get a few friends together, your ears will be in for a treat.
