Game of the year; the holiest gaming award out there.  When someone starts talking about a video game that was the best out of every game released in a year, people listen.  All gamers have their own opinions on GOTY, but most gamers can agree that these nominees are among the cream of the crop.  So, without further ado, I present you with The 2010 Gameslave Award for the most awesomeness of awesomsauce, the Game of the Year...

Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360, PC).  It is truly a remarkable feat that the fine folks at Bioware were able to win the Gameslave Award for Game of the Year when the game came out in January of 2010.  Most GOTY awards are given to games that had just been released around the holiday season.  In a way this makes sense.  These games are most recent in gamer’s heads and developers like to release their "blockbuster" games during the holidays for an increase in total sales.  It didn't matter with Mass Effect 2.  One full year later after it's release, I am (along with many other gamers) still thinking and talking about it.  Mass Effect 2 had the total package: superb graphics, killer soundtrack, remarkable story, characters you could sincerely connect with, multiple endings and fluid gameplay that brought it all together.  Congratulations to everybody who worked on Mass Effect 2, you deserve it.Well, that wraps up for our 1st Annual Gameslave Awards.  I hope you enjoyed reading it and feel free to leave comments on what you agree on and what you disagree on (I'm looking at all you Halo and CoD fanboys).

Again, thanks for reading The Gameslave Awards and congratulations to all the winners and nominations.  Everyone at The Gameslave is eagerly looking forward to a great gaming year in 2011.
