The Professional Gamer - February 29, 2016

I've had a lot of fun this week and managed to spend some time doing all three of the activities that I used to assume I would do every week: reading, watching, and playing.  Therefore, my article this week will be a bit longer than it have been for the past few weeks.  And, as long as you enjoy my ramblings, that's good news for you.  Read on to find out what I've been up to!

I finished reading Heir to the Empire and started reading Dark Force Rising.  I feel a bit silly re-reading these old Star Wars novels, but the new movie has me super excited about the series again, and I basically can't help myself.  In any case, these books are a lot better than the Shadows of the Empire, so I'm pretty happy with it.

I also finished watching the first season of Snow White with the Red Hair, which has been pretty good.  I'm usually not a huge romance fan, but have been enjoying this series due to the way the characters are written and the political conflicts.  I love that the characters have interests other than falling in love with each other, because this makes the romance parts of the story feel much more realistic and true.

On the gaming front, I've managed to scrape together the funds to buy myself a Cobra Mk.III and outfit it as a trading vessel.  I'm now cruising through the core sectors, picking up rare goods and carrying them out to people who will pay a significant sum for them.  Things have gone well so far.  A few small vessels tried to interdict me and steal my goods, only to find out what sort of teeth that I have.  Then I got caught by a larger vessel and ended up loosing it all.  Only a minor setback in the end, and I've got myself up above 1 million credits again already.  I'm planning to keep the Cobra for awhile and upgrade it, before buying myself a Type 7 transport.
