E3 2016 - Bethesda Showcase Impressions

One of the best things about E3 is always when new things are announced and seeing what is planned for the next year. Bethesda is on year two of having a show case and here is what I think about what they have announced.

  • Quake: Champions
    • Another remake of an old franchise, really?
    • ANOTHER REMAKE OF AN OLD FRANCHISE!!!
      • Yes, I can go both ways on this.
    • Multiple characters each with their own abilities
      • I would mock this, but I like games that do this
  • The Elder Scrolls: Legends
    • FTP Strategy CCG with a story told my a moth priest.
    • Another game to attempt micro-transaction money out of me.
  • Fallout 4
    • Contraptions
      • All sorts of toys!
    • Workshop
      • Build your own vault and experiment on people.
      • So much stuff that I probably won't get to! But this is awesome for those builders
    • Nuke-World
      • The wasteland vacation
  • Fallout Shelter
    • Quests, new enemies, new combat and PC version
    • Maybe I will start playing again?
  • Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
    • Coming to PS4 and Xbox One with mods
      • Because why not? It would be stupid not to do this.
  • Pre
    • Aliens? Main characters is taken over by aliens and is a test subject? Science Fiction though, and I love that.
    • Coming from the people that made Dishonored, so may be worth a shot.
  • Dishonored 2
    •  Has it really been 4 years since Dishonored came out?
    • It looks pretty
    • Play as Corvo or Emily to save the Empire and take it back.
    • They game looks cool, and the powers look just as abuse-able as before.
  • Doom
    • New gameplay modes and map building options, for free.
      • I can always approve of companies trying to continue support of a game for free after purchase.
    • Starting 6/13 the first level is free for the week of E3
  • Elder Scrolls Online
    • It is an MMO that is still running!
    • They are launching in Japan this year.
    • The Dark Brotherhood DLC for PS4 and Xbox One
      • Everyone loves a good assassination, and now console players gets to join PC players
    • One Tamerial
      • Auto level to wherever you are, so you can go where you want and play with who you want.
        • Will be interesting to see if this works given that it means there will be no "training" on how to use stuff after the tutorial.
  • VR
    • Doom and Fallout 4 will have VR
    • Fallout 4 will be ready for 2017 with the HTC Vive, and the console war starts anew.
