The Professional Gamer - March 2, 2018
/Hello and welcome to another week of travel for me, with only a minor amount of geeky activity. Also, I spent most of last weekend trying to get over a serious cold. What does that mean for my geeky activities? Well, I pretty much limited myself to a few minutes of video gaming on the weekend, but haven't had a chance to catch up on the seasonal anime for this week.
Let's talk a little bit about Diablo III, since that was the main thing that I did this past week. I finished the Reaper of Souls expansion, which opens up the rest of the game for me. Now, I've tried doing a bit of Adventure Mode and have turned the difficulty up to Hard. Honestly, that is probably something that I should have done a long time ago, since Normal difficulty offers almost no challenge to the game. Even though we are already in the second or third week of the current game season, I'm thinking of starting a character for season play to give it a try. I know that I don't have a huge amount of time to dedicate to it, and will therefore not rise to the top of the rankings; but, I think it could be a lot of fun to see what I can do with a character in a short amount of time.
In other news, we are getting very close to a busy part of convention season. First up is Colorado Anime Fest, on March 23-25. I'm looking forward to seeing David Vincent, who is always a fun guest, and (hopefully) talking with Joel McDonald about ADR directing for Space Dandy. If you haven't bought you weekend pass yet, you have two more weeks to purchase that online, so you better get to it. I hope to see you there.
Shortly after that is the third installment of the Denver Independent Comics and Arts Expo (DINK!) on April 14-15. The guest and exhibitor lineup looks great. I'm especially looking forward to seeing Danielle Corsetto (Girls with Slingshots), Melanie Gillman (As the Crow Flies), and Morgan Beem. It looks like there are all sorts of other artists to discover as well. Again, weekend passes are only available for a limited time, so you should act soon. And again, I hope to see you there!
That's all I have for now. Have a great week and game on!
