The Professional Gamer - June 29, 2018

I had a slightly strange end to an ordinary week. I was at home this week for a change, and spent most of my time as normal. Work during the day; chores and a little bit of fun time in the evenings. Earlier in the week was a lot of chores, while later I had more time for fun. Then, we had some cool news today. Anyways, lets talk a bit about what I was doing to goof off.

So, I had expected another episode of My Hero Academia since there was a preview at the end of the last episode. But, it seems that there isn't, and we are now in the midst of the season hiatus. Last night, I was occupied, so I didn't have time to watch the newest episode of Wotakoi, but I should have some time this weekend to catch up on it.

In other television (steaming) news, I've been watching the second season of Queer Eye. I have somewhat of an ambivalent relationship with the show. While I feel it is important to have gay representation in mainstream media, I am sometimes concerned that the show is exploitative. Sort of like going to the carnival sideshow, rather than seeing representation that is more true to reality. But, I suppose that complaint is more rooted in the nature of the show (as semi-scripted reality TV) than in the subject matter. In any case, its still a very fun and positive make-over show. If that's your thing, check it out.

Outside of watching stuff, I've been playing a lot of Hyrule Warriors. The new version is a lot of fun again. I have a lot of maps to work my way through, but I'm making good progress so far. I've completed Legend mode on normal difficulty and am 50% through the first Adventure Map. I'm looking forward to enjoying more of it.

Finally, today I got a text from my brother-in-law to let me know that the NES Classic was back in stock. Two trips to Target later and I now have one for myself and one to gift. Then, I drove down to IKEA and bought new furniture for my living room. It will be delivered tomorrow, at which point I will probably spend the remainder of the day building it.
