/Hi readers! I may have premature on my end of season wrap up for My Here Academia. At this point I’m not sure when one season ends and the next one begins. Anyways, I want to talk about the latest English language episode, “Bright Future”, so spoilers a’hoy. Don’t look at this post if you are worried about spoilers.
So, I guess we actually killed a character? This is really surprising to me in a show like this. At least, it wasn’t what I was expecting to have happen at the end of this arc. Nighteye’s last moments with Mirio were so poignant. Then, I look at the comments on the episode in Funimation, and the entirety of the conversation is about “how cool is Deku?” and “this show is so hype”, and I’m wondering if I’m watching a different show than the rest of these people. I know the actual answer, but I’m afraid to talk about it. I’m probably a lot older than a lot of the people who are posting on Funimation’s website. Being significantly older, I have a tendancy to identify more strongly with the characers who are closer to my age. In other words, I see more similarities in motive and emotion in the various teachers at UA, rather than the students. And my imediate response to “bad thing happens to Deku” is more along the lines of, “These are children, why do they have to deal with this?”. What are your thoughts? Who do you identify with more?
In other news, I’m still making my way through the Battle for Azeroth zones in World of Warcraft. I’m up to level 117 currently, so I’ll have a little bit more time to finish that up before I hit the true end game. I’m trying to keep an eye out for what I’ll want to be working on in the near future. Which factions do I want to have reputation with, how can I find upgrades for my gear, etc. The fact is, I’m going to have two zones still to explore by the time I hit 120.
That’s all I have to talk about this week. Have a great week and game on!
