E3 2016 - Sony Press Conference Overview

Sony as usual is the last actual press conference of E3 (Nintendo doesn't count anymore as they do the Treehouse live from the floor now). What will they reveal and how anticipated will a lot of this be? The suspense is killing me!

  • God of War
    • Kratos has a son now?
      • He seems to be a pretty forgiving father
  • Days Gone
    • Post apocalypse game where you play a biker bounty hunter
    • On the fly "customization" of weapons
      • Used oil filter as a silencer
    • Looks like there are zombies (or a zombie type creatures) that attack in LARGE hordes
  • The Last Guardian
    • What? This is still happening?
    • October 25, 2016
  • Horizon: Zero Dawn
    • The world they created actually looks amazing
      • Robo animals for the win!
    • Combat looks like a bunch of fun
  • Detroit: Become Human
    • Sci-fi movie where cyborgs are a part of life, and very human
    • Several choices, several different ways the story can unfold
  • Resident Evil: Biohazard
    • Out January 24, 2017
    • PSPlus members can play the demo
    • Available with PlayStation VR
  • PlayStation VR
    • October 13, 2016 for $399.99
      • Still feels kinda pricey
    • 50 games between launch on end of 2016
      • Farpoint
        • Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission
        • Batman Arkham VR
        • Final Fantasy XV VR Experience
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
    • I do like me a sci-fi shooter
  • Crash Bandicoot
    • Crash 1, 2 and Warped are getting remastered for PS4
    • Crash is also coming to Skylanders
  • Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
    • Demo available now, game in two weeks
    • It is a Lego game, expect comedy that follows a story line and don't think too hard about it.
  • Death Stranding
    • Hideo Kojima's new project
      • We all knew this was coming when he was hired on to Sony
    • The trailer has a man standing on a beach wearing handcuffs on one arm, and everything on the beach looks like it drowned in oil.
  • Spider-Man
    • Insomniac Games brings up Spider-Man!
    • New Suit design
    • Combat looks awesome
    • I can totally see why my cousin is excited for this game.

So VR is a big thing this year for Sony, but they are not hedging all their bets on that. There will still be indie titles, and they have the mysterious Death Stranding. Plus Spider-Man, I think everyone loves that guy, except JJ.
