EA 2018 E3 Press Brief Impressions
/The annual event is here to show new games and what we can hope to expect for the next year. EA was the first to do their press briefing, and I am finally watching it. This coming late has absolutely nothing to do with me binge-watching My Hero Acadamia. No nothing at all...
- Battlefield V
- Another Battlefield game. This time in WWII.
- You can destroy more stuff and the game has a ton of customization.
- No loot boxes and no "freemium" pass. This is a good thing. Apparently they can be taught.
- Sounds like there will be lots of new content, including the new hotness, royals.
- I can't say I care. But EA may have me a bit jaded right now.
- FIFA 19
- More Soccer / Football.
- They have the World Cup in this game.
- Given my love of sports games, this is be another pass for me.
- Origin Access Premier
- EA is going to stream HD Games in the cloud to devices via subscription
- Madden NFL back on PC, and this starts on this service, later this summer.
- Sounds like games going forward will be on this and access to back catalog.
- No price quoted?
- If this is just like OnLive was, where you can play full PC on mobile devices, that will be pretty cool.
- Jedi Fallen Order
- New Star Wars game by Respawn.
- Takes place between EP III and EP IV.
- There was nothing else shown and it is not coming out till Holiday 2019...
- Star Wars: Battlefront II
- Understatement of the year, didn't get the game "quite right" at launch.
- Changed progression to cosmetics.
- Added a "Hunt Mode" with Ewoks that was super popular.
- Adding content from Solo: A Star Wars Story.
- OK, off topic for second, the presser they showed the same little video over and over while he was talking. What the heck?
- Adding Clone Wars content with the planet Genosis.
- Adding General Grevous, General Kenobi, Count Dooku, and Anakin Skywalker.
- Maybe it is almost time to give it a shot?
- Unravel two
- I never played the first one.
- Always two characters on the screen.
- Co-op or single player.
- Drop in drop out.
- There is a red yarn puppet and a blue yard puppet.
- The game looks pretty.
- Your Spark shows you were to go.
- Looks interesting. I like platform games so I may pick this up.
- Sea of Solitude
- New property by an Indie Studio in Berlin.
- art of the EA Originals project.
- Loneliness turns humans into monsters.
- Game is about taking Kate, a human who became a monster, and finding out how it happened and how to turn back.
- Love the art style, very stylistic.
- Fingers crossed it is good.
- New property by an Indie Studio in Berlin.
- Madden
- Brought on the guy that won the Madden 18 championship.
- Remember kids, you can make money playing games, but it takes a ton of work and time investment.
- Madden 19 trailer shown.
- Not a big sports fan, so props to those that love this franchise, I could care less though.
- Brought on the guy that won the Madden 18 championship.
- Command and Conquer Rivals
- Mobile RTS
- Showed a 3 control point map that has a nuke.
- In this map, you have to control 2 points to fire a nuke at the enemy.
- Smaller and quick matches on iOS and Android
- Insert complaints that there is no new desktop C&C game here.
- Anthem
- So what makes this different from Destiny?
- Special individuals in fancy armor? Check
- Limited Human cities due to earth getting invaded? Check
- Multiplayer based? Check
- Four classes instead of 3? There it is.
- Bases are single player zone while the outside world is shared multiplayer.
- Ranger, Colossus, Interceptor, Storm
- You can swap out suits, that is pretty cool. Allows for an easy "respec" when you want a different play mode.
- No loot boxes, no surprises on what you get when spending real money on cosmetics.
- Releases 02/22/2019
- Still seems kinda Destiny-ish.
- So what makes this different from Destiny?
